Wild Carrot (Daucus carota) a.k.a. Queen Anne's Lace

There was an abundance of Queen Anne's Lace growing everywhere I went last summer. It looked like snow had fallen on the fields in some places. I find this wildflower/weed to be a very interesting subject to take pics of.

Enjoy these. Comments welcome.

Hi GeneM :-) Re Abundance Everwhere

I watched a very interesting new series on plant migration in the UK where it showed plants that were only found by the seashore growing along the hard verges on motorways iinland.
Apparently this is due to the huge ammounts of salts used to combat freezing road surfaces, the salt coupled with the continual draft of wind from the passing traffic simulated the same conditions as that of the seashore..hmm just thought you may be interested :-) Nice set of pictures.

 Interesting story, Robbie. I believe that with all the traffic of cars and trucks traveling long distance in this country, the pollen, and insects, are carried far and wide to places where they never existed.

Glad you like the pics. Thanks for looking. -- Gene

Thank you, Al. Glad you like them. My impression was the same as yours. It looks like a series of snowflakes and this pic is popular among the ladies who want prints made of my flowers. Thanks for looking. -- Gene

Very interesting point, the same thing happens at the side of railway tracks and wild flowers.

My 2 most favorite flowers together, Gene. I think its hard to get a close-up on Queen Ann's Lace as the individual flowers are so tiny. You did really, really, really well. thanks.
