OK, I finally got off the fence and ordered a refurb d7000. Even when the 7100 or 7200 comes out, I can't see the price getting much lower, and I can't see the camera getting much better. I can get 16x20's from my d5000, and I don't print bigger than that. The biggest factor in ordering is the focus motor in the body so that I can use my old lenses. (The bells and whistles aren't bad either.) All in all, I think I can quit cold turkey the gadget acquisition syndrome, relax, and go back to taking pictures. Oh, I may have my d70 converted to IR, and then...

I'm cured too. No hint of NAS. I'm waiting for the D8000100efg. My D7000 does everything I need, does it well, and I'm still learning after more than two years with it.

Unless you're sold on full-frame, the D7000 was the break-through for a decade or more still to come. I'm surprised there is a D7100. I'd do the D600 for the difference and then the D800 for the best.

So your saying you would buy a D600 before a 7100, please explain?

Cameras, Lenses, hah child's play. Wait until you get the bright idea to look into studio strobes - can you say PROFOTO haha? Gear acquisition can never be cured once contracted.

Give 'shooting' (up) a brand new meaning, doesn't it?

You just bought the best camera in it's class and the D7100 is just another model for the addicts that feel they need a new camera once a year at least. It will take you a while to learn the D7000 and by the time you learn it all Nikon will probably have 3-4 more models on the market but they will just add a few more bells and whistles, mostly none which you truly need. There are always those with deep pockets that think buying a better camera will get you better pictures but not better than this baby. Enjoy and hope to see some of your shots...........
