I got this guy...Male Carpenter Bee....shortly after I got my 85mm macro lens last March. I know these guys are anxiously awaiting spring here in the Midwest like the rest of us...lol. Post some if you have a few.

Those are very interesting shots Bret, thanks for posting. Those big bees are like flying tanks. :D
Bret: here is one, not that mine is anywhere in same hemisphere as quality of yours...but at least it was enjoyable going through all the pretty flowers of my garden shots!

Bees in flight, those are really excellent and very difficult to capture... good stuff.
As far as posting bees.... I will restrain myself and only post a couple from last summer... For those who aren't familiar with my posts I have 100's of bee shots.

Thanks Bret  If this hasn't got Geff twitching, I now fear a deluge of his 100s of excellent bee shots..lol
I like your shots as they offer the considerable challenge of taking them in flight. which is a totally different ball game.
Inspired yet again by your post, I will submit my Dragonfly in flight shot taken last Summer when I spent hours trying to catch them on the move..I've alway thought its one thing taking creatures sitting down, but quite another taking them whilst moving..
