Wow, am I feeling overwhelmed by the need to shoot some street and street candid portraiture these days! Probably the weather... but the season does it to me, too.
I was looking for some B&W work to share on another forum specifically for B&W portraiture and came across one of my favorite street shots, shared here as #1.
The reflection does it for me.
The other two are thrown in "just because"...
I gotta get out... and SOON.
April's Closet Thrift Shoppe (Delmar, Delaware)
Date night in Salisbury....
I was scared of this man at first... but after an hour of him standing there watching me, I realized he was waiting for the boats to come in, in hopes of working to unload
Colorful Boat Captain

Good set Tilde,i jumped the gun a bit there.
Nice pictures, how was the weather in Delaware that day?
Hands down, number two. Terrific terrific shot. Stark and pensive, I think this one needs a little more PP with a B/W tool to be a guaranteed contest winner, but it's absolutely outstanding, one of the very best shots you've posted. Excellent work, can't say it enough.

Very nice set T!! Love the first two!!!

#2 shows mood--pensive, thought provoking. Makes me wonder what he is thinking, where his life has been. The gentleman in #5 is interesting but I would find it difficult to approach him. Would be nice to have more detail in his face, maybe he really isn't so intimidating.
Thanks everyone!
"Lifestyle" photography is my favorite genre of all because it's a nice catch-all for "People: doing what they do".
I'm insatiably curious that way.
carlysue: that pensive man in #2 is a mason and he was reflecting on the recent(at the time) loss of his job due to layoffs. In the blink of an eye... his whole identity, in HIS mind... was gone.
The man in the other shot you mention, was actually VERY nice... but I didn't understand how nice until the boat came in. (I took that one before I had a means of correcting in PP... will run it through LR and see if I can't get a better fill light on his face and clean up the noise!)

Thank you.
(I will admit now, though... I don't generally post what I consider "my best" here in ugly. This is where I get to let my hair down, so-to-speak.)
Well let your hair down more! Your shots are always so clear and colorful. I love to see what you are doing.

In as much as my actual last name is Mallard, I've always had a particular fondness for ducks of the variety in shot 3 :)
They're all great.
I'm late to the party but the B&W guy is good and the staring guy is also good. :)
Really good set of shots, love the "scarry man" shot
