This is my dog Ted. I found him as a bruised and scraped up castoff by the side of the road when he was about 7 weeks old. As crazy-looking as he was, he grew into a handsome adult dog. Now he just acts crazy. Hope you like him.

Thanks. He's very photogenic. Funny thing is, I wasn't about to keep a heeler mix and put up posters all over town to find his owner or a good home. Within about 2 days he made me realize I'd already done both. He's a real take charge kind of guy!

I still haven't got the adult photo posted, and I do appreciate your interest in helping. These were his puppy photos.

Wow I'm not used to all this feedback, probably because I've never posted photos before. (Actually my first was a photo of NM in the 50 states challenge). Yes we were both lucky in finding each other; I'm not sure who saved who. Or whom. It did seem rather fated: I'd lived in this area for 20 years and was certainly familiar with the roads, yet while driving to the mountains for a hike I missed the turnoff. When I made the u-turn to get going in the right direction, there sat this little guy by the side of the road. My friend got out of the car, slowly, to approach him. I heard a blood-curdling scream and thought the puppy had run away or worse, into traffic. But my friend returned to the car holding the puppy. She said she knelt down and said, "Come here, baby," and he screamed and threw himself into her arms!

So that's the story of Day #1 with Ted. I've had him 6 years and we now have lots of stories.

Who wouldn't act crazy being bruised and cast off by the roadway?
Hopefully would come out looking as good as Ted does.
