Wonderful quality, so nice and clear. Could you give us settings, camera, lens, etc...
Thanks so much for sharing and sorry to hear your step-son didn't advance, but look how far he has come! Again, great job!

Oh, saw you stranger in the other post, awesome!!!!
I use the same set up for all my wrestling...since I'm at the edge of the mat, not more than 15' or 20' away anyway...the focal length that I use is a 135mm.
With that distance, the DOF comes out nicely, the background is "there" but not too busy, and the DOF makes sure that the important parts are in focus if possible.
When I arrive at a new gym...I take one shot with the Expo disk to get a WB (in this case, I didn't because I already had one for this gym...but forgot to apply it to any of the pictures before posting....so they look a bit yellow.)
I also use a hand held incidence meter and walk over to the mat and pop an exposure for the day. Even though the lighting varies "some" around the gym (gaps between lights etc)...except for the dim corners...every mat usually is close enough that one exposure reading does it for the whole meet. I never look at my camera's needle again to see if the exposure is good....there's no need....so I keep my LCD off, and don't need to chimp either...I KNOW that the exposure is good, the meter said so...I KNOW that the WB is good, I preset it...all I have to do is snap...snap, snap.
