Lol there you go....showing your true color. Come on Pubican...get back on that soap box.

This is the best that you can do? Why don't you steal my avatar and color it black.... Then you can claim to be a black conservative... and point out to me how different and cute that is. You have offered little in the way of constructive dialogue to the thread, and much in the way of name calling and you wish to characterize yourself as the adult in the room... You are flying your liberal flag with a false since of pride, but of course you are too bankrupt of thought to understand this.

So says another disgruntled republican..get over it.

Hence your statement "obama is not anti gun".

You missed a few other words usually used to describe us: right wing, extremist, gun lovin nut.........

Yeah but I mentioned the one that we were talking about. And the one that counts. Move on you lost.

You won? My what a big head you have! You have won nothing, and when push comes to shove the second amendment will win with the full backing of the House of Represenatives.
quote=Elfstop quote=GregC quote=Elfstop quote=... (show quote)

I never said I won did I? I said republicans lost their presidential bid with Rummnie...I never even mentioned the second amendment...No one wants to take all the guns away...just the ones that are used to kill children and are not even needed for anything else...that hero of yours that runs the NRA is hurting more than helping anyone.

All this is just your way of getting back at democrats...get over it and move on....
quote=Blurryeyed quote=Elfstop quote=GregC quo... (show quote)

Wow! I thought that this thread was about gun control.... Let's see what condition the country is in when this president finishes his second term... He is going nowhere fast... So please do tell me how it is that we are going to identify and get rid of "just the ones that are used to kill children", I am sure that we can all agree to do that! Maybe, we can start by censuring all the vitriol coming out of the left and their national media outlets... Do you not find it odd that our National democratic mouth pieces... NBC, CBS, ABC, and NPR were quick to lay the blame for Gaby Giffords at the feet of Sara Palin's map? Or, how about when the guy shot up the theater in Co, CBS quickly raced out to try and link him to the Tea Party.... Now we have this idiot over in CA who is shooting cops and their children who published his praise of everything left and not only is their silence from the National Media outlets, but the far left has created a fan club somehow deitizing this freakin murderer... Where is the National media's reporting on this?, you can bet your ass that if he had released his manifesto praising the Tea Party the corrupted media would be all over it asking all kinds of questions as to what this means and can the country, but no they remain silent, the fact that he is a liberal does not bother me or even have any significance, his problems are deeper than that, what is bothersome and deserving of a look see, is the support that he and his cause has received from the likes of far left flame throwers up to the the status of nationally recognized college professors... ie Marc Lamont Hill..

So tell me, how does the federal government protect us by disarming law abiding citizens? Even Joe Biden was recently exposed on camera saying that the legislation that he is proposing would do nothing to advert instances such as Sandy Hook... So what is his real motive? So Romney lost, this does not make you any more right in your assumptions and clearly does not make you any smarter.

BTW... I am not particularly a fan of the NRA or any other interest group.

I don't have the patience to even read all that anti-american drool...just glad I could give one more dis-gruntled republican a chance to get up on that soap box and tell us his plans for the future...
quote=Blurryeyed quote=Elfstop quote=Blurryeyed... (show quote)

Hey Doc ..... talking bout drool doc ..... hey listen up Barney ..... Aunt Bea's lookin for ya, there's a spider in the kitchen ...... ha,ha,ha,ha

I am becoming very upset with the polarity on the 'gun' issue.
Some people seem to want to ban guns altogether and some want complete freedom for anyone to own poses and use guns any time any place.
No one seems to question that you need a licence to drive a car. The licence indicates that you have demonstrated a level of competence to operate one safely. Children, the mentally challenged, and people who have demonstrated irresponsibility behind the wheel are restricted from operating a motor vehicle.
A fire arm can cause a lot of damage in the hands of a person who fits similar categories. People who have committed murder armed robbery made threats or have a violent criminal record should not have access to a firearm.
Law abiding careful drivers should continue to be allowed to drive automobiles and responsible firearms owners should be allowed to continue to do do so. As far as I know automobiles designed for racing on the track are generally not permitted on public highways. They are restricted in how they are used and by whom.
It is not unreasonable that certain weapons of mass destruction such as oozies and artillery should not be in the hands of the general public. Nor is it unreasonable that the persons who want to own firearms should be required to demonstrate that they can and do store them safely and that they will not use them for the purposes of committing a crime. here in Canada we have had gun control since the 1990s the positive thing that has come out of it is a demonstration that most of the gun crimes are committed by criminals who have no licence to own a firearm. So stop the fighting. Licensing and mandatory safe storage of firearms isn't going to harm lawful owners and the ownership of firearms by lawful responsible citizens is not going to et innocent people shot.
This polarity prevents anyone from winning the debate. The entrenched position of the NRA makes the people who want gun control that more determined to have it and to want it so restrictive no-one will be able to legally own firearms.
The people who want a complete ban on gun ownership make the firearm owners determined there will be no restrictions.
Surely reasonable adults can see the benefits of a compromise.

If the firearms had been safely stored in a locked cabinet, the Sandy Hook massacre would never have happened. Why weren't they locked up? There is no law requiring it although any responsible gun owner should have their guns locked away so children and irresponsible adults cannot get access to them.

Let me say in closing that the system in Canada is less than perfect. restricted and prohibited firearms still are used to commit crimes but those crimes are clearly committed by people who are not licensed to own the firearms in the first place. The number of accidental firearms deaths has declined mostly a result of people' like myself who have complied with the law and safely store my firearms in a locked cabinet.

So stop the bickering, sit down and draft some laws that everyone, except the criminals can live with.
I am becoming very upset with the polarity on the ... (show quote)
