Is that an American tern? I remember there was a tern colony not far from where I grew up, and they would use that exact tactic to protect the colony!

Hey !, NOT a laughing matter... Some years back up in Bradenton I had a Pelican make a direct hit.... Yuck !!! Vot a mess....

That's a Royal Tern, (or is it really a tern), they won't be breeding for a few months. They don't breed on this beach. We will not have terns for a few months once they start. They breed in North Naples and on Marco Island. They nest right on the beach by the hundreds. Very loud.
