I was in my blind early one morning before daylight. I noticed condensation on my viewfinder from my breath. I pulled out a cotton swab to carefully wipe the viewfinder and after making several strokes, I realized the cotton tip was pulled off when I removed the swab and I was actually using a hard plastic tip. It scratched the view finder which I'm assuming is some type of plastic?? Camera is my D 7000. Any suggestions on replacing this eyepiece??

My husband used one of those sponges that has a hard plastic side for scrubbing pots, he used it on the windshield of his truck to get some very stubborn bugs off, it left it very scratched and him very upset, he didn't think plastic would scratch glass either but it did.

It's not the plastic - it's those tiny pieces of sand and grit sliding around between the plastic and glass that's doing the scratching!

Actually I posted that from another link. Rick is in Denver Colorado. I'll get the active link and post it in a few minutes. I meant to do that earlier and got sidetracked.
