He stops the first person he sees walking down the street and says, "Thank you Mr. American for letting me come into this country, giving me housing, food stamps, free medical care, and a free education!"

The passerby says, "You are mistaken, I am a Mexican."

The man goes on and encounters another passerby. "Thank you for having such a beautiful country here in America ."

The person says, "I not American, I Vietnamese."

The new arrival walks farther, and the next person he sees he stops, shakes his hand, and says, "Thank you for wonderful America !
That person puts up his hand and says,
"I am from Middle East . I am not American."

He finally sees a nice lady and asks, "Are you an American?"
She says, "No, I am from Africa ."

Puzzled, he asks her, "Where are all the Americans?"

The African lady checks her watch and says,
"Probably at work."

Maliciously slandering entire groups of people for no reason other than narrow-minded prejudices is just what you did, plain and simple. I fully stand by what I said, regardless of how well I may know you. You don't have to wear a sheet and burn crosses for everyone to know what a bigot you are.

It wasn't funny, it was cruel and demeaning. Calling entire groups of people lazy is mean-spirited and bigoted. Plain and simple. Couching racism in a joke does not eliminate the racism, it only makes the joke teller more ignorant. And those who see no problem with this subliminal racism are just as ignorant and bigoted as the joke teller.

I mostly forward on the jokes I read her to my non-UHH contacts. But I offered this one and Pow, I had offended the PC police. Geesh!

I think a little humor or levity is a good thing, and I think most folks do as well.
