Well I got a chance to use the Mark iii for about 2 months and just loved it. The only problem was I had to give it back to my friend and go back to my 20D and 50D which are great cameras but just not the great quilty of the Mark iii.

The good news is my 5D Mark iii is on it's way from Adorama and should be here Thur. afternoon.

I also have to say the people at Adorama are great to deal with and very helpful during my ording process. The only problem I had was they talk to fast for this southern person---LOL.

By the way I am not affiliated in anyway with Adorama just stating the great service I got.

Can't wait untill my Canon 5D Markiii gets here!!!!!!!!!!!

I know what you mean, I wished for a 5D from the first incarnation but it was beyond my grasp, then I was finally able to get the 5D mk111 (I know it's not about the gear, honest) but, well it's just an exceptional camera and I don't need to tell you that, holding it in my hands makes me feel more creative, so enjoy because I know I will.

Your purchase out of state may just as well be okay. Lets all try to support our local brick and mortar stores. Mine (West Photo in Mpls) will match any online price. I also get my sales tax back using the capital purchase form ST-11.
One of my assistants used a NY company to purchase a camera. She got a low price, but when it was shipped it was missing the battery and charger. According to that particular store that was extra.

I have a Canon 5D3 myself and there are a few things you should know.
Your going to love how fast and responsive this camera is....
That you will need a new Hard drive..
Hoodman have a excellent CF card and one of the fastest out there. The 64Gb card is the one to buy, as it's just too easy to fill up a 32Gb card with RAW Photos. This camera slows down when taking Raw and Jpeg.
What speed cards do you have now ?

Great!!!! Glad you found a shop like that. Most are not. Yes there are stores that will tear apart a box and sell individually(that's one reason it's so cheap) B&H Photo and Adorama are both reputable stores and the sell the cameras as received from the distributors, they do not open the boxes to sell the parts located therein.

Got all new class 10 cards from 32 to 64 gig. I was shocked to see how much they were in price but they say the are everything proof, they better be at 80 to 100 bucks apiece.

I also just got my Canon 5D mark 111. I have 2 CF cards, both 16GB, one 120mbs & the other 90mbs.

Yes they are expensive. I was infromed when I purchased the camera you need a very fast CF card to take advantage of its capabilities(???)

Wished I had a brick and mortar store to go to. The only one we had went out of business 2 years ago (thank you wal-mart and drug stores). I bought most every thing their. The next closest one is over an hour away. Shopped there several times until I was purchasing a 70-200 f2.8. When I went they were over $200 more than B&H. When I asked about a better price, and I didn’t expect them to price match just do a little better, I was told “will I guess you need to go to B&H”. I haven’t been back. I would rater spend the extra to overnight shipment from B&H than go back to them.

I bought my 5Dlll from my local camera store. I do some shopping on line as well but a purchase like this felt right bought locally. I tried it there & can go to them if I have any questions. Not every place has a local store that sells this kind of photographic equipment & provides good service as well. We have such a store & I think it deserves my support. Bab
