That is a cool flower, I don't think that we have those in Texas, at least I haven't seen any.

They are a cool weather plant and bloom in January here in Portland. It was in the mid 30s when I found this one. I believe they are sometimes referred to as Wood Rose-- but I could be wrong about that.

Yes, it is a shrub. These were the only color in January other than gray and green!
