I want to post this picture I took of a purple heart monument on Ft. Hood here in Texas. Today they are burying a Marine Sniper who was killed here on the state while on a rifle range by another Marine. Today they are excorting his body from Irving Texas to San Antonio for burial. I relize it states First Cav soldiers on it but it reflects all branches of service. I am also one of those with 100 per cent disability service connected.

And we need more young people that dedicate themselves to honoring our soldiers and emergency personnel like that gentleman that created this 'memorial' ! He repaints with a different set of pictures each year to honor those who have given life and/or limb in protection of others!!

I saw on the news where so many wanted to attend the funeral of this soldier that the service was held at the Dallas Cowboys stadium on the 50 yard line and the stadium was full of mourners ,just goes to show how many people actually respect our Vets and what they have done for us all.
Thank you and all the other Vets for your service and all the things all of you have done for this country of ours and all of us.

My husband was awarded a few of those...where they are now is anyone's guess. He doesn't really care about them. He knows what he did over there & I am proud & greatful to still have him around to love!

All those who were wounded deserve a special place in the hearts of America.

The 1st. Cavalry I served with in Korea 56 years ago had a different insignia; a yellow shield with the horses's head.
