PS 5 to PS 6 upgrade and Plug-ins

I can't wrap my head around this. Past upgrades for PS didn't remove previous version. Must be done manually. Want to upgrade from PS5 to PS6. Will the upgrade process pick up all my plug-ins and install them in PS6? It would be a drag to have to list them out then locate and individually re-install them all.

Sorry, can't help- have you thought about posting this on the Adobe Forum? You may get a quicker answer there...

Yeah I tend to try here first for the enlightenment of the masses but according to an on line chat with Adobe Customer Service the plugins automatically move forward. We'll see. Finally got power back 4:00 PM Sunday from Friday night. Got Cable, Phone and Internet back Monday around 4:00 PM

If you have installed your plug-ins directly into photoshop then when you upgrade you will have to install them again. However if you have put them into a folder that you have labeled plug-ins then you just have to tell the new version of PS where they are located (in preferences), this saves a whole lot of time and trouble in occasions like this.

So since installing CS6 will not automatically uninstall CS5 I should have both Programs after I install CS6. Could i then use finder to find the plugins in CS5 and copy them from the CS5 folder to the same folder in CS6??

You could do that providing they are not programs like Nik software or Portrait pro or something that is a complete program that adds a plug-in to Photoshop.

You will need to re-install them and then change the destination folder of the plug-in to the one you created. All of your plug-ins will end up in the one folder and then you tell photoshop where to find them. You can google this or go to photoshop help and and get the lowdown from them. Hope I was of help.

Thanks, another chat with Adobe and they reversed their previous "no problem" response and confirms yours, Plugins need to be reinstalled. Question into NIK now as to how many times I can download and re-install Plugins.
