Nope. Leading - lines. Leading to subject, not splitting the photo. Horizon, or waterline can serve the purpose but it didn't in duck pic.
If u shot along waterline towards ducks on waters edge - yes...

may I make a recomendation? people who have read enough of my posts know whats coming. There are 2 books every photographer should own and read. I am not the only person who recomends these 2 books. Both are by Bryan Peterson (my favorite photographer) and are available on amazon.com both new and used. The first is entitled "Understanding exposure" in easy to understand language and lots of awesome photos he will explain f stops iso shutter speeds focal length and everything that contributes to exposure. Not only will you learn proper exposure he will show you how to find the most creative exposure :!: The second book is called "learning to see creatively" he discuss compisition and outside the box thinking. I reread both books every 6 months. his impact on my own creativity is enourmous. here are some of my shots I credit him with inspireing me to take

thank you so much for your recommendation and I am going to amazon in just a few minutes to pick up the books thank you very much and your photography is amazing! I am trying so hard to learn but I think I am trying a little too hard and i am not letting myself be creative. Just trying too hard to get these shots I need for the projects, which I may just be able to do on a day of shooting in a more relaxed state of mind! Thank you for everything, you are terrific for taking the time out of your day to help me, thank you!

you are very welcome. and thsnk you for your manners. I am old school and apreciate the response. Now remember photography is fun. do not overthink it. shoot what interests you, yoour hobbies your passions etc your passion will show in your work. As my photography master Yoda would say " hmm, think there is not , try there is not, vision in mind of photo there must be before picture you take." and may the f stop be with you always. being unattached to reality makes my photography so much easier. :!:

Hi Tj from oz here i have thought on ur idea, go back and shot the same location, posistion the car so the lines or a main line complaments the cars lines as if the car was finishing the line you might say, now being silver paint with a good clear coat shot in the afternoon, the hour leading into twylight is a good time to shot metelic cars with clear coats and in that sort of light you will be able to use reflections to complement the car and photo. Im no photographer(and i carnt spell)but i know cars and i hope this helps.

It may be difficult for me to be able to shoot that car again, it's a friend of mine's car but they moved recently, when they come back to Havasu I will try to get him to help me out and try it again!
