Iphone video help

Hi - My daughter and husband are applying for a contest that requires they introduce themselves on a video. They are using their iPhones separately to do this, as our daughter lives in the Yukon and we are in Manitoba. The plan is to piece them together and edit them later. The contest requires a list of file extensions that can be used. I've tried Movie Player and Adobe Premier. Neither has these extensions. The iPhone video has .mov extension, which is acceptable. How can I piece them together? Does anyone know of a free software program that will do this? I can do it in Adobe, but can only save as a .prel file, which is not accepted. Can anyone help me?

Yes, you can do it in Adobe Premiere!
The .prel extension is the file that keeps track of the clips you use (it doesn't actually copy the clips, just keeps track of where they are on your computer), and what you do with them.
Premiere will export finished movies directly for YouTube, Blu Ray or DVD, iPhone, iPod, 3G mobile phones and others.
Once you are finished editing your movie, you have to render it, then export it for the device you will be using.
I don't have the computer on which I have Pre, booted right now, but check the menu items, you should be able to find easily where to find the export item.
On the top right hand side of the Pre Interface, select the green button "Share", then click on the format you want.

Yes! Thank you. I used to have an older version of Pre and couldn't find the export so I thought you couldn't do it anymore. I am so grateful. I need to get this video off. Now I can. Thanks to the help of my UHH friends. You've been a big help.
