Just out and about today. Had a great breakfest at the hotel kitchen and sat outside with the door person (young man) chatting and watching the world go by.
I was amazed at the number of visitors to Vietnam there were. Caucasians one after another speaking different languages, orientals up the ying yang and most speaking Korean or Chinese. Tourist in fancy dress and those in dirty pants and t-shirts with long hair and backpacks.
Made plans for a day tomorrow in the 'black market' area down by the river. Have to get my door person to arrange a cyclo to and form for a reasonable price. Ahhhh back into the traffic flow, can't wait.
Here are a few shots from walking around the blocks near my hotel.

A shot from across the street to my hotel.
The young doorman I get great info from. He likes my ability to chat with him in his own language. He buys me a coffee each morning that makes me feel bad but he wants to.
Hello Sweety
Early morning fruit stand going to location unknown
Coffee clutch and gambling crowd across the street. They scatter when/if police cruise by
I thought she had a beautiful profile
I'm really not that far from downtown
Face sure is protected eh ?
Alley way that has everything from massage palors to resturants to hotels and gift shops.
Ahhhh found my way back to the street my hotel is on without paying for a ride
Back in the room with a fresh french bread ham & cheese subway, chips and a soda. Cheap Charlie Day

Nice shots Sarge. So far does any of the city you've seen, resemble the city of 40 years ago? When is your trek into the country? Have fun.
memories , thanks Sarge ~
Trek into country starts 14 thru 17 when I go to Mangrove Forest, Monkey Island and then down a couple days into the Mekong Delta.

Hey Sarge, I have been following your posts and I have been enjoying them very much. But I do have a question and I may have missed this one. Are there any restrictions as to what you can and can not photograph? It sure doesn't seem like it.
