The images are over 4 mb but when I run them through Zerene the final image shows only 879 kb any ideas as to why this is happening? I am using the free 30 day trial.

Unfortunately, I can't help you with the question, but this is certainly a beautiful photo.

It might be how you are saving them. I use Helicon Focus and save as a TIFF and JPGs as "maximum".

Hi
Ok. I must admit I do get confused when it comes to saving TIFF, JPG, raw . I long for the simplicity of Kodachrome 64 which left me just to take pictures.

You might check Zerene's settings when saving a file. LR changes file, exposure, if don't change the original factory setting. Saving in Jpeg format is what will work for you in general most of the time

Hi
Yes it was my fault there is a slider in Zerene that I did not slide to the maximum, this has cured the problem. Thanks

Agree. I don't use Zerene, because they didn't have a Mac version when I purchased Helicon. Do you know if they have a Mac version now?

Sorry... I don't use Zerene, just LR4 and CS6 with some NIK plug ins.

I checked. It's available for MAC OS/X. I'm going to download the 30 day trial & compare with Helicon. I probably won't purchase it-- but I want to see what I'm missing. I don't have LR & my earlier version of CS is Windows....

I think the key might be that many trial softwares only let you save in JPG. For instance Neat Image trial copy only allows a JPG save. When you purchase the full product you can also use TIFF to save.
