Alright, Tom. I love your posts and such a variety of bugs. PLEASE tell me how you get these little guys to stand still while you get so close to take these pictures. Bugs up here in the Northeast aren't so cooperative. If I tried to get that close, all I'd have were pictures of leaves or stones. What's your secret?

i scare my share of bugs,but you have to move slow to have a chance.today i got one shot at a some and they were gone.and some were gone before that.go slow and get down to their level when possible.tom

This is a female. Note the long ovipositor, used to lay eggs below bark, or in a leaf.
