Hello all.
I am toying around with the idea of getting an ultra wide lens.
Anyone own or have an opinion on the nikon 10-20 or the tokina 11-16?

I have the Nikon 10-24mm and like it a lot.
I have the Tokina and I love it. My kids bought it for me and I had no idea what I would ever do with it but I use it all the time. For a relatively inexpensive lens it takes great pictures and it's fun. Keep shootin'. Mike
The tokina 11-16mm extremely sharp and wide, very nice lens
Have you looked at Ken Rockwell's review? He says it is truly a wonderful lens but he likes the Nikon 16-35 better for what ever that may be worth to you...

Greetings,
I've been using Tokina wide angle lenses for years, as far back as 1980 when a friend gave me a 17mm for my Canon Ftb. Tokina lenses have never failed me. They are simply outstanding.
I'm forced by age and other considerations to sell my Tokina 11-17mm in a Sony a65 mount. If any HH'ers are interested I'm sure we can make an advantageous deal.
All the best.

I also have the Sigma 10-20 mm. It's an excellent lens, and very, very sharp. You should consider taking a look at it.

I have the Tokina 11mm-16mm f2.8, which I use almost exclusively at 11mm. I like the extreme DOF which allows me to get a feeling of depth in my images. It's a specialty lens and bit heavy, so I don't carry it regularly, which means I miss images.
The Nikon 10-24 is a very good lens, but very expensive. Most people tend to go for the Sigma 10-20 which compares favourably and a lot less $
I have great results w/ the Tokina 11-16. I like to use it at the widest (11mm).
