Thanks, I used RF-603 to trigger 1st flash, other 2 fired as slaves. The 2 flash with gels were fired into reflector below the light to get color to the crystals, the 3rd was bounced off the ceiling to light the top. Killed almost all ambient light except a small amount from the lightbulbs.

Love what the flash and gels do to the crystal but, and I don't mean to sound like JR here, I think the color temperature of the bulb filaments detracts from the whole effect. If it's not too difficult to set up again try it with the lights off. You are on to something here.

I'm always looking to improve, and I am far from thin skinned, so I welcome your suggestions for improvement. I did not care for the shots I made with the light fixture off and I already discarded those shots. I did have a lights off shot of another smaller fixture (sample below), and I did not care for it either. The bulbs on the larger fixture are definately in need of cleaning and I believe that detracts from the image. The clean bulbs on the smaller fixture look better to me. Also, the bulbs were dimmed so I did not feel like I was squinting into sunlight while taking the shots. I'll keep bulb output in mind next time, thanks. I'm afraid if I go back in the dining room any time soon the wife will make me clean that thing. :)

Don't agree. I think the golden glow from the lights complements the golden top. But would be interesting if this was on a dimmer that you could tone down the light a bit, keep the glow. To see how it would look, mask off the lights, reduce their saturation. Looks nice.
