No bugs here, but we have something you southern guys don't.
Any ideas for ways to make this better?

Narrow DoF is always going to complicate a 3-D subject, like frost. Good subject for focus stacking, as long as you can handle the cold. A little PP could brighten the image.

Thanks for the comments. I might have to try this again next time we have some good frost and see what I can do with focus stacking.

I think I just need to go out and get a better picture, no matter what is done to it it just isn't cutting it. I think Nikonian is right it needs to be stacked.

I think that it is very nice, when downloaded and expanded you can see the crystalline structure...

Thank you. There are parts of it that turned out well. I just need to find a stacking program that doesn't break the bank to use on my Mac. Then get out there again and see if I can do better.
