First posting for critique.
Good day to all. Which is the best place to post picts for critique? I see some in general photography and in Photo Gallery. I want to make sure I post in the proper space as I am new to this. I attached some pictures that were also in the general section. Looking for critique as I feel that is an excellent way to learn.

Hi, Penny
I'm so liking the photos of the "grandgirls" - beauties all. Future heartbreakers. I'll leave the critiques to the experts. I would like to hear how you like your new lens.

Good day to you. First off, I think your photos are all well done and hope you post many more.
As to your question, you can post any photo for critique in this section or any of the other gallery sections: People, True Macro, Sports etc. The key is that if you wish critique you should
ask for it . Many people use the acronym C&C, which means Critique & Comment.
You can also have your photo critiqued in the "Photo Analysis" section which is a little understood place that gets a small percentage of photos. My personal opinion is the section has been a bust since few post properly there.
Here is how the "Photo Analysis" section is supposed to work: A photo is posted there for
specific critique as opposed to general critique. In other words one would post a picture and, for example, ask, "Is the sharpness acceptable for this photo?" Specific questions are supposed to be asked for specific analysis.
The second use for "Photo Analysis" is to present a before and after workshop, teaching techniques for the members. I hope this might answer your question. 8-)

Beautiful job! I'd maybe crop the bottom 1/3rd out of the first one. These are great!
Love the composition of the egret (heron?) photo! Particularly the contrast between rough wood and delicate, flowing feathers. Turtle is cool, too. My suggestion on the turtle is to crop out most of the blurred foreground log, but that's just personal preference.
They are all wonderful photos! Wonderful job!
I think you are off to a good start, keep snapping..
