I had a friend post on FaceBook that doctors in the UK are calling for your government to ban pointed long knives.

We are getting a lot of knife crime,mostly,I regret to say from ethnic gangs.We don't seem to have the gun problems you have, whether that is because of gun control I am not qualified to say.

I Googled it and came up with this,
"A team from West Middlesex University Hospital said violent crime is on the increase and kitchen knives are used in as many as half of all stabbings.
They argued many assaults are committed impulsively, prompted by alcohol and drugs, and a kitchen knife often makes an all too available weapon. The research is published in the British Medical Journal. The researchers said there was no reason for long pointed knives to be publicly available at all."
I know I don't use mine when I cook so there is no purpose for them. They should be banned :-D

I think it is caused by society's lose of values.
People that get the guns legaly are not commiting the gun crimes, so what do they want to do, take guns away from the people that need them for protection.

These people are bound and determined to hurt people, if they don't have a knife they might use a cricket bat or a tree limb.
