I took this shot of my nephews daughter during the family Christmas gathering. I'm looking for honest opinions of the outcome. My main wish was that she ate her candy after my shot but not before. Ah well this is how it works with candids sometimes.

A little cutie

I have never liked children or anyone with a face covered in food and a shame as the photo is spot on

Its a very nice photo and easy to clean up in photoshop elements
if you have that or some other program. I've had many candid shots where this happened and you would never know.
Keep shooting and carry wipes, lol

The above comments plus I'm missing catch lights in her eyes. Cutie pie
Get the flash off camera for improvement.

Thanks JR1 I am of similar opinion. I didn't notice the food until editing.

I only have Digital Photo Pro that came with my camera. Nothing in it for this type of PP. Thanks for looking.

I've just recently acquired an off camera cord and am still working on how to best use it. Thanks for looking.

EoS_User, I took the liberty to help clean the face of this little girl. It sounds like you didn't have the tools to fix it. It took about 15 minutes to get it where it is......It's a good picture.

This is great, thanks so much Lens Cap. I'll have to look into other PP tools so I can learn this.

actualy the food crumbs on her face make her look more like a kid and explains the huge smile on her face.

Just a thought, why don't people ever ask for a dishonest opinion? or maybe what's the worst camera etc. Just channeling my inner andy rooyney

Without the food, that's not a candid kid anymore. Just an adult concept of what a kid should be. It's a candid shot and a good one. Leave it as is. You photographed her world not yours.

I work with 7 small children everyday and they always have food on their faces. I like the messy kid face she is beautiful

Honest opinion.

1. She's a cute little girl.

2.) You're right, the food on her mouth isn't good.

3.) Harsh flash, you need to soften it and get it away from the camera axis if possible.

4.) It's a candid shot i know but it would have been more appealing if her eyes were looking into the camera lens.
