H.S. Wrestling
Shot these with a 5d and a Sigma 70-200 f/2.8
Hey, thanks. I'm heading to shoot another tournament today.
Very nice. I'll be doing a basketball game this afternoon in the same lousy light. You made the best of a very poor situation. How is your son doing?

My sons both wrestled all the way through High School, but they have graduated and moved away. I shoot sports for our local newspaper. I don't get paid, but I like having a press pass, and getting photo credits is a great way to get your name out.
I knew you were at floor level but hadn't considered that you might have a press pass. A press pass rocks! Great that you could get that from your newspaper.

Next week I get to cover the State All-Class Wrestling Tourney. It is very exciting. They have 12 matches going at any given time. The sidelines are buzzing with reporters and TV crews, it's pretty cool.
By the way DB, good luck at the BB game. Do you have a son or daughter playing?

Thanks. No, too old for that! Have two boys like you. They gave me five grandsons playing something nearly year around from basketball, football, lacrosse and baseball but no wrestlers. They keep me pretty busy. The hardest is basketball- as you know well the lighting in school gyms is terrible- not at all photographer friendly. These gyms make you work hard and to make it even worse in most of them you have to be in the stands because there really isn't sufficient floor space once the stands are rolled out to sit at floor level or move around much. I envy you having having the pass and with wrestling the ability to move around a little so you can really get in there which you do very well. Witness the shot where you are practically in the refs butt! ;)
I much more like the outdoor venues where I can be at field level and roam with the action. Keep up the good work.
