Hi all Has anyone here used or have knowledge of Focal lens calibration software?? It sounds good on the website ........ but .. perhaps only my hairdresser knows for sure

There is a photographer on DWF (Digital Wedding Forum) that swears by it. I'd like to hear a bit more before I lay out hard cash.

Why oh why didnt i do a search first !!! Unfortunately doesnt seem to be alot of opinions on it !!!

Do a Search on UHH for:
focus calibration
lens calibration
focus pyramid
You should come up with enough "hits" to keep you reading for an evening or two.

A lot depends on what camera you are using. Not all cameras can easily be calebrated. You "can" calibrate a Nikon D3100, D5100, or D5200 by tryal and error working with an allen wrench extremely close (mere millimeters) from the exposed sensor. Others like the D7000 are extremely easy to calbrate by just printing off one of the many free targets available on line, and doing it yourself. I'm sure the software works, but when you research how easy it is do yourself, (approx 5 minutes per lens without software) not sure I'd spend the money.... that's right, I didn't HA!
