We came across this big coyote on our hike in Briones Regional Park yesterday. He was the size of a large German Shepard. I was glad that I had Nicki, my dog, on leash. It would not be good if they tangled. I frequently see coyotes up there he was the largest so far. There are lots of ground squirrels and other small critters for them to feed off of, and no hunting.

Nice that he posed for you. Good shot.

I've driven by the park many times but never stopped. Looks like a pretty area.
We have quite a few of these guys practically in the back yard. I watched one try to separate a turkey from its flock one morning. The coyote was already pretty fat and didn't put much effort into the chase. The turkeys managed to stay out of its way without too much trouble. It seemed like more of a game.
