The recent competition has me looking back at the personal project I undertook to get round to most of Dorset's churches, nearly 400 in all.
I will be interested to see what you think.
All Saints, Chalbury
St Michaels Compton Abbas
Holy Rood, Coombe Keynes
Hi Phil
I really like all 3 if these shots - however #1&3 - the light and pop of the church gives thema special eel (mood) to them
Thanks for posting - made me want to do the same type project in my area
Karl
The dark skies set them off well.
Very impressive. I like all of them.

Nice shots pledwith, the mono really suits them. I'll have to have a look at these places myself when I'm out and about. Have you posted the full set anywhere?
Thanks for all the nice comments.
I have had them made in to a set of books, for myself, family and friends, but you can look at them on my website at
www.paledwith.co.uk.
By all means, keep going with this project & KEEP POSTING. Thnx for sharing these.

Very nice.
Do you by chance have one of the Holy Rood in Wool?
We lived about 200 yards from it for a year back in the Early 80s. I know I have some nice slides of it but we have just started our slide digitizing project and haven't got to those yet. The attached are ones from a trip back about 5 years ago with a little digital but would like a better one.
(We lived up this road about 200 yards. It is called Quarr Hill and the house we rented for the year was "The Plantation". There is a wonderful Thatched cottage at the start of the hill. The owners invited us in for tea when we visited 5 yrs ago and we had a wonderful time.)

Interesting project and love that they are in B&W, as said before, it seems apropos. I was amazed at the dates on many of the tombstones when we visited--such history, most before anyone ever ventured across the Atlantic.. We can only go back a few hundred years here.
