Hi everyone, Ive been a member since Christmas 2012 and quite new to photography. I am wondering is there any free photo editing software anyone can recomend. I dont want to do a lot of editing to my photographs, just simple things like leveling my horizons, amd maybe cropping. Thanks everyone Pip

Welcome PIP.
PIP, do you shoot a Canon? If so it came with DPP, Canon Digital Photo Professional. It is excellent software, especially for the things you mention. It's free and it works.
If you shoot another brand, they came with something similar, but I don't know anything about them.
People immediately discount the bundled software as something to ignore. I used it for two years and only went to Lightroom(LR) when I started taking classes and it was required. I still use DPP for lmost all work that is not going to galleries, contest or I am trying to sell. Check it out.
Edit: it's probably already on your computer if you loaded all the discs that came with your camera. Look on your desktop.
I still use only the Canon software to download all my raw files.
Picasa does those things and it is free!
picasa, you can't get better for free.

I use Photscape. It is a free download that has many functions and small learning curve for first time users.

Best free software for photo processing and very close to
PhotoShop is gimp, google it.
I use linux as OS, so i can not tell for sure if there is a
windows version available, most likely there is.

Welcome PIP, The learning curve for photoshop and gimp is pretty steep. Having said that, elements and a good book will teach you 'what you want to do - when you want to do it'. Photoshop tutorials abound on the net and can be printed off. If you're new to using a camera you will want to do quite a bit of editing till you get the hang of things cause ther's lots of buttons and things to try and even more things that go 'wrong' between lense and printer..

As others have already said PIPDYOUNGER Picasa & GIMP are free.
Other than that all I will add (for all on UHH) it's amazing what you can find on Youtube if you search under download.
But please be careful what you do.
