Here are some more pics from the day after the snowfall. It was so beautiful as the sun was setting . Let me know what you like, (or not as the case may be) Thanks very much :-)
Fading sun
Chapel
Renaissance tree
window setting
love that last shot with the windows and the room. BOMB!
Nothing other than the subject is blah.
Could have used a fill flash on the inside room.
I like the dreamy quality of Renaissance Tree. I didn't mind the dark room in the last shot. It effectively steered my attention to outside the window. Either way, nice shots.

Could you be a little more specific when you say "nothing"... Im ok with critique I promise but other than suggesting a fill shot I am not sure what you are trying to say. All of the subjects are blah? or just the room ?

Thanks, I did not want to use a flash in the room because I wanted to portray what was on the outside and just the Silhouette of what was in the room .I wondered if that would bug people. The Tree was just playing a bit with the mood of the photo. Thank you for your input

The photograph looking out of thw window is a perfect example of what HDR processing was made for. The effect here is good but if a client wanted to see the detail in the furnishings he would be out of luck. HDR would have been the answer, 2 pics 1 exposed for the bright outdoor area and the second for dark inside detail, merge em and you have got the desired shot.

I am saying that the pictures are correct technically wise but do not present any interest, sorry.

Well I doubt that they are completly correct technically , and I was playing around a bit with some stuff I don't normally do.
I do like to shoot through windows though.
The chapel is I admit most interesting to me ,built in 1884 It is a stunning example of Gothic Revival by the Architect: Henry Vaughan. I try to photograph it in many different ways.
So to each his own I guess that is where the term "beauty is in the eye of the beholder comes in"
Nitpicking is not constructive and discourage folks so I try not to. If constructive info can be given I do w/o shame and sometime too bluntly (I am old and ornery, remember?).
The only comment that was valid was for use to use fill flash to add details in the shadows. Complete lack of light (as it was) destroy the effect you research. Too much (full flash) would flatten everything. soo there you have it.
Since the picture is not on order the picture has to show what you feel for yourself, not for someone who does not exist. This invalidates the precedent HDR comment.

Love the last photo! Lighting the inside would of distracted the mood of looking out the window.

Thank you , that is what I decided too while taking the photo. seems like a split decision on that one eh? Thats what I love about photography... really no right or wrong. Thanks for the compliment.
I love #3. Did you apply a vignette glow to it? Just wondering
