These are some of the first shots I took with my new Canon Rebel T3 while on vacation at the beach. Any critique is greatly appreciated as I am new to photography but have always wanted to learn how to take the best shots possible.

For me...
#4 for the win.
#2 I would like to see a little more space between the lady and the sun. Maybe, a step or two to your left.
#3 Grass in foreground, a distraction.
#1 I'm not fond of.

I try not to frame the perfect shot in camera. I pull back a little and crop on the computer.
Hope this is helpful!

Thanks Edgorm, and also thank you Jay. I didn't notice the grass in the foreground of the third pic but now that you mentioned it I have to agree that it does distract from the pic. Thanks for the critique I really appreciate it. I will try and watch for these types of things in the future.

I like them all and I liked the grass in the foreground, I feel it can lead you into the picture. You see the grass and move into the picture. Each to their own

These are a nice set of pictures amd No.4 is really good. Since you have asked for critique this is my idea but others may well disagree.
In No.1 I think you hace focused on the shoulder rather thanthe face. For me No.3 is a rather ordinary shot spoiled by the grass. These are small points and do not spoil nice shooting.

Thanks again for the remarks. I do appreciate them. As I said before I am in no way a skilled photographer but someday I do hope to be. I'm sure with everyone's help on UGG I can accomplish what I am setting out to do. Thank you to everyone on the board.

#4 is absolutely the winner, but a little cropping on #3 to eliminate the grass wouldn't hurt. I think they are all very good.

I'm a fellow T3 user (only a year and a few months) and it's a great camera to start out with. Stick to this forum. You will learn so much in a very short time and couldn't ask for nicer people to learn from! Keep posting and keep asking questions!
