This week has been the first clear sky all summer in Auckland.
Its been hot muggy and sticky
Jupiter was sitting out in all its glory, with attendant moons.
There was still a little haze about but this is my first ever shot of this planet.
The city lights dont help.

I have seen better, taken with bigger optics, I would love to get photos I have seen with masive telescopes but its way beyond my budget.
Any way I am happy enough for now lol
A friend has a meade 10 in with 2 inch eye pieces and thats whoa factor, but 16 grand worth of gear, no way

Looks like a trip to Tekapo is in order Don I have a nephew who is into astro photography tries to get to Tekapo as often as he can afford it

any where outside Auckland would be good , we had a motor home but Sheryl has MS now and had to sell it,but got to some amazing little spots with no light pollution , we loved little Waipa. by lake karapero
