Improving a bit.

Tamron 90mm. D3100. Sunlight only. Staying in focus hand held is still pretty much hit or miss, but I'm improving each day.

The yellow berry is 1/4" diam. I don't know what the yukky thing is on the leaf, but it is 3/8" long. Apart from cropping, they are untouched.

Not yukky! Bits & pieces. A very small critter lives within that camouflaged house. The dwelling may even be portable.

Spherical subjects (berry) are difficult to contain within a narrow DoF. Keep practicing.

I would suggest using your Flash even in well lite areas. This will up your keepers by a long shot. Use of flash helps with subject movement/slight breeze, and camera shake. Learn how to properly adjust your flash and add a home made diffuser, your macro photography will take a large step forward. http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-32754-3.html#1177497

Yup! I third that recommendation, I shot natural light for two years before I started using flash, now when I look back on those images I realize that I was just making life hard on myself and I was not using my lens to its full potential.

Thanks guys. I'm aware of the advantage of using flash. My ring flash is en route from HK-should be here in about a week. See attached link....
