I have used this technique without knowing it was cool. Now I know it's cool

BTW- not the live view focus. :-(

Awesome!!! Now I have to try this for sire. Especially the night HDR!! Thanks you very much for the link. I was so frustrated because my camera only snaps three at a time and that is hardly ever enough.

I use a D80. While old I love this camera. It's a little noisy at high ISOs but what the heck. It has a 3 shot bracket mode. I have been exposing for the midtones then stop down three stops. Take my bracket shots then increasing my exposure three stops and taking another set of three bracket shots. This gives me 6 shots that is more than enough for PS HDR pro to make a good HDR photograph.

Often I bring the HDR shot into Topaz Labs Adjust to fine tune or get what ever look Im after
