Does anyone think this is a very good b&w shot.

Great photograph but on my crappy monitor it is a tad dark but like it anyway. I have to fix up my system, not your pix. Haha

I like the black and white , the comp. could have been better, What was on the left side that caused you to shoot so far rite.????
old railroad tracks with weeds is to the left.
Especially since it's B & W, I think the tracks and weeds would have been a plus.

Danny, This is just one man's opinion. It's a good photograph but not a terrific one. It's missing 2 things.
1. you know the reference of the bridge because of the track's, but i don't because i can't see the track's. The railings have no context even though it looks interesting. Even a hint of the track's would have been better.
2. Looking at what you did post. It is all gray, it is not b&w. When shooting or printing b&w you have to have in the photograph pure black & pure white somewhere in the photograph. Just adding contrast in post would have improved your photograph. Again, the title is old Tracks, you saw the track's but, the viewer does not.
A photographer creates a photograph!
A hobbiest having fun, takes pictures.
The only other shot shown here does not have proper focus it only has the rail in focus, must have been something I was attempting and forgot about it. Thanks for the info.
oops, found another one
