Really nice overall but I really like how you caught jersey #1 in the second pic and jersey #42 in the third pic- both are great action freezes. You must be shooting a fast lens on a camera body that will allow pretty high ISO to maintain your high shutter speed. Tell us more.

Thanks john blue and Db7423. These were shot using a D600 and a Nikon 70-200 f2.8, Manual exposure at 1/320, 2.8, ISO between 1250-1600, continuous high. I also carry my D7000 with a Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 lens for wide angle shots. I use similar settings. This was my first time trying to shoot with manual exposure. In the past I would use aperture priority set at 2.8 ISO 1600 but I would sometimes see motion blur. I'm still working on getting the peak of action.

May come easy for you- given these photos my guess is you know the game well- probably played too.

Thanks. I've been going to local high school games as well as my grandson's b-ball league games for the past couple of months to work on timing and figuring out how to deal with lighting that isn't always the best.
