Smokey Mountain Deer

Last Thursday had 5 inches of snow here. Decided to go to Cades Cove in the Smokeys on friday because I have never been there right after a snow storm. Well when I got there ,surprise, no snow. It was a beautiful day in the high 40s and sunny. Any this deer came by while I was eating lunch. Notice the scars on his side. In the second photo he posed just before he jumped into the trees.

You got some really good close shots. The deer that are there are so fun to see, almost tame.

Thanks for looking .Cades Cove is like Yellowstone with all the wildlife.

MTG - Nice set of images ..... You're right not much snow in the cove, more in Maryville than in the cove.

Bob thanks for looking. I live a wee bit north of Knoxville and as I got further east the less snow there was. I looked at your site and it is quite impressive. Maybe we could get-together up there someday.

Nice shots, Looks like the rut is over or not started down there. Up here in MN the boys still have somewhat swollen necks. Looks like a nice day to be out hiking and taking pics.
