An interview with behindthecamera

1) How long have you been into photography and what got you started?
I have been taking pictures my whole life. I think photography is just part of my character...

2) Have you had any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
No training, just always had a camera with me ... People call it my extra limb :-)

3) What inspired you to take your winning shot?
No inspiration ... It was a really good pic taken at the time of the contest.

4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup?
My camera is a canon rebel... To be completely honest... I just know how to change the settings... Don't know what they all mean tho... Sorry I'm not much of a professional.

5) Would you change anything if you could do it again?
I would never change any of my photos.. I make time stand still... That's what a photo is... You can't change that.

6) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?
Besides being a mom I love to draw and paint...

7) Is there somewhere we can see more of your work?
There really isn't another place to look at my photos... I'm thinking maybe I should put more in here :-)

Thank you everyone who voted for my pic... Kinda gives me a little ego boost... I might put more up :-)

An interview with Severums

1) How long have you been into photography and what got you started?
I have been taking photos on an off for thirty years, but only seriously over the last five. I got started when on a whim I bought a Canon AE1 with a 50mm lens and then fell in love with the art it could produce.

2) Have you had any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
No formal training, but I do read a lot of tutorials and then try to replicate.
Mainly Landscape, but my wife regularly hauls me round historic houses and the interior scenes they offer are great.
I love HDR, but it has to be subtle.

3) What inspired you to take your winning shot?
The composition was instantly there, it was as if someone had set it up purposely.

4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup?
Nikon D800 with a Nikon 17-35 f/2.8
ISO 100 @ f/6.3
Three hand-held bracketed shots @ 60th/30th/15th second
No special setup

5) Would you change anything if you could do it again?
Maybe using a tripod would have produced a sharper image, but I'm happy with the result.

6) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?
Thats as tough question, nothing really could replace it, I love art but have no talent for it hence photography....I used to keep and breed tropical fish so I guess that would be a poor second.

7) Is there somewhere we can see more of your work?
No, I have never thought my efforts warranted display...I will say that the responses from Ugly Hedgehog members to various photographs I have uploaded has been great....so maybe I will think about showing some in the future.

Thanks to everyone who voted for me
