You probably need to calibrate your monitor, so that what you see is what you get on your printer. That is just the start though. There is more to it than that. Try the search tool on this forum to find out more about calibrating your monitor. There are many helpful posts that will get you going in the right direction.

Calibrating your monitor is important, and you definitely want to follow through on that advice.

Additionally, when your Canon print dialog box comes up, be sure to use the drop down menu to select the proper print media. If it is set to print on matte paper for instance, and you're printing on high gloss Pro Platinum paper, your results will off.

If you are printing from Photoshop or light room, besides setting the media type in "printer settings" click the box in the print dialog box to have Photoshop manage printing, not printer management. There will also be a drop down menu then available to select the profile matching your paper. If you are printing on non-Canon papers, you can download the paper's ICC profile from the manufacturer's web site. Once installed, it will allow you to select that paper's profile in the Photoshop print dialog box as well.

These settings, along with a calibrated monitor should help get a much better match.
