This question came up a little while ago where an OP saw this lens listed both ways at a substantially different price. I was curious as I had used this lens when I had a D7000 and it was superb. I wrote to Tokina, email follows but I couldn't find the original post. so if the OP sees this here is your answer.

Dear Mr. Skip Besaw,

We thank you for your inquiry and using the Tokina lens for a long time.

Those notations are considered to be some mistakes.
Only one exists AT-X M100 AF PRO D 100mm/F2.8 MACRO but it has Nikon
mount and Canon mount.

On our web site (US) is described only "AT-X M100 AF PRO D" now.
Expression of UK site is considered to be a thing of mistaken source
origin.

We hope you will continue to favor us with your custom.

Best regards,
Ken H Tokina/HOYA <sales@tokina.co.jp>

Hi,

I have seen your 100 macro listed two ways:

1. Tokina ATX 2,8/100 Makro D NAFD for Nikon

2. Tokina AF F/2.8 Macro AT-X100F PRO D- for Nikon

On your website (US) I only see # 2 listed. What is # 1, Tokina ATX 2,8/100 Makro D NAFD for Nikon. I see it advertised in UK and priced below # 1.

Hey,

Ignore the PM I sent you, didn't notice the dates on this post properly (been a long day at work, that's my story I'm sticking to it).

I too was a bit confused by this, on the UK amazon site both lenses are listed. Though the one that Tokina says is correct is actually cheaper. Needless to say I've gone for the cheaper.

Looks like the Makro D is only available from3rd party amazon distributors rather than amazon direct- could be one of them listed it wrong- if that's how the process works, I don't really know.
