My personal favorite is the photo of your dog, but I'd post #2 for the competition.

With the Parkinsons association, I would go with the dog. There is someone missing in that photo. Anyone who has had a pet will see that. Sometimes it is not what you see, it is the story you see. Good luck with your choice.

The trees are uninteresting , they are shot,s that fill every scrap book in the country . Now the dog is the best photo here , it grab's you and makes you want to look . I would not crop a thing out of it . The edges add to the picture , you take the edges out all you got is a picture of a dog . The whole is what makes this picture . But who are the judges ' if they are pros who knowes what they might say , if tis your local fair or church or the or the school your dog shot got it by a mile . Dont crop.

#2. Three objects make for good composition. Dog has too many distractions and no detail such as an eye that shows. The first one has the disturbing trees on the left. Perhaps the horizon line should be level on #2. Can you straighten it? Maybe that is the terrain that slopes, but #1 appears level.
You remind me of a wine snob

I must stand with Bram boy. I am a camera club judge and he is totally right on with his constructive criticism, especially the dog.

I do like wine, but no one who knows me considers me a snob and I do judge a lot of photo competitions. If that makes me a snob, so be it. Do I care what you think? No!
