The other day I had a particular response on this forum that I want to save. I managed to copy it, but I don't know where it copied to. I can copy it again, but how do I find it. I really want to keep the I formation that I got close at hand, and e mail it to my daughter, who is also into photography. Thanks. Linda

Try copying it again and take note of where it is copying to. You can probably change the name of the file and where you want it to be saved. Do you have a Mac or a PC?

Go here to search for it.
http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/search.jspWhen you find it open a new text file and copy and paste the info into the file. Save the file with a name that is meaningful to you.

I think the easiest way to save it is to copy and paste it into a word processor document such as MS Word, then save that file somewhere where you can locate it easily.

After you right click on "copy" open a word document either click on the "paste" icon or right click anywhere on the blank document and then click "paste" then save to a folder you can find.
Hi, Skeezit. You don't say how you copied it, so I'll speculate about what might have happened. If you used the COPY command you get when you right-click, it will have gone to the Windows clip-board and is waiting for your PASTE command. If that is what happened, you need to left-click the cursor down where you want the info pasted to, right-click again and select PASTE.
I apologise if that's all stuff you know already. Hope this helps.
EDIT - If the computer has been switched off since you last copied, you will have to recopy.

When you hit copy it just went into memory. Then you need to open NotePad or your word processor program (like MS Word) and do an "edit/paste" into a new document, then save that into a "Photography" folder inside your MyDocuments and that should make it easy to find.

You need to copy and paste where you want the document to be saved. Copy alone will not save it for you.

Got it!! Thanks for the help. I finally had to send to myself in an e mail. I'm not sure why exactly, but it worked.
