Bottle Fly and of course some bees...
I did something today that I have not done in a long time... I went out with just the 100mm Macro lens, no tubes, no extender, no reversed lens..... I really wish however, that I had used something that would have helped me get closer to that fly. Anyway, all shots done with a 100-mm macro lens at f/18. The back end of the fly???.... well I have never seen one that looked quite like that.
Nice bees! I noticed the drop on the the second image

Very nice. Were the bees scurrying around at a fast clip like they often do, or were they more lethargic? I always have a hard time getting them in focus because of their movement.

They were moving around a bit, but I was able to slow them down with some sugar water.

Do you use a spray bottle or a dropper?

I poured it, I keep it in an old condiment bottle with a small hole for a spout and a flip top lid... I try and mix it a little thick by heating it in a microwave, thicker than what you could make simply by stirring it into water with a spoon. When I was a kid my parents always had some of it around for mixing drinks, they called it simple syrup...
i like them all,good job.tom
Nice job I really like the next to last one with the water drop on his head
Nice DOF on the photos. Love my 100mm
