woodsliv, thanks for the link of the Tehachapi Loop. Please have a great week. :)

Thanks, I forgot to mention that your picture is really good, you got a little closer than I did

Thanks, I was a clear, warm day and I hiked over the hill to a good spot. The Loop is really cool, as you can see the train passed over on under itself depending on which way it is traveling. The one picture you can see the end of the train on the loop and the rest of the train starting around the 2nd loop area

For imformational purposes, I did some research and found out that the Union Pacific locomotive 4250 has been on both coast of the United States in the past eight years.

It was at San Lucas, California on August 19, 2005, at San Timoteo Canyon, California on November 17, 2011, and at Selkirk, New York on Feb. 8, 2004.

I would love to ride in the cab of this locomotive as it travels across the United States. Tejaswrangler :)

There is a strong possibility that I rode inside the cab of this unit. And if I didn't ride I was at least through it and probably a few times. Last 5 years before retiring I was a conductor for UP on the Tucson Div. After retiring I threw away most of the paper work I had to keep, so I can't say for sure. Prior to that I fixed them in Tucson and El Paso as a Machinist/Supervisor for close to 26 years. UP has close to 8,000 locomotives, with 4-5 average per train, then servicing 20 -30 trains a day (my shift) it wouldn't take long to go through 8,000. So most likly I've been on it one way or the other.

Ka2azman, I think it is neat that you might have been inside this locomotive. The history of some of these locomotives are interesting to me. Thanks for the imformation and taking the time to let me know. Also, thanks for viewing the picture of #4250. :)
