I drove by this on my way home from work and said to myself that it would make a good photo, by that time I was already past it. I turned the car around and pulled over put the window down and took the shots.

Like/Dislike...let me know!

Thanks for looking

Nickel,
I love your use of HDR. This one and the Ox Barn made me go back several times for re-looks. Great eye and good artistic use of a techniques many folks do badly.

Now this HDR is one to love by me! The contrast is correct and it really stands out. I didn't have to look for the subject! Great job on this one. Absolutely love it!

HDR is an amazing tool and take a lot of practice to get it right. HDR = High Dynamic Range and can over due a photograph or really make it stand out! Some use it only for it's bringing out blacks in photographs and other use it like Mr. Nickel here. Happy shooting and good luck!

Wow, almost looks like a painting. I love it. Good job. I think I would have taken a few pictures of it so see if I would have liked the tree more off to the side instead of right smack in the middle of the picture though. But you are right..it was very well worth turning around for!

only nit i have to pic on an other wise great photo is the little bit of rocks in front of the twigs in the center of the photo I would either crop or clone it out. it is slightly distracting. your photo has a very nice calm and serene feel to it. keep up the great work.

Well, I must say I didn't even notice those twigs. I was to distracted by the calm sound of the photograph! But now that it's been brought to my attention I can't by pass it. I think cloning it out would be good, the rock adds to the feel of the photograph...

Lovely. I'd also like to see it without the HDR.

The color of the rocks seem to compliment the color of the sky. The sky and the rocks seem to frame the picture.

I love the HDR effect. I would just suggest that you could have taken the photo from a different angle or cropped differently to get the tree out of the center of the image. It is lovely.

I agree that a slightly different angle to get the tree out of the middle, clone out the twigs coming out of the rocks and would like to see the original photo for comparison. Your HDR application is great though. I love the colors and the painterly effect.
