Yes it's you, how can it be TOTALLY out of focus when you can see it's eyeball, it's not in the same class as some you see on here but do you think that could be the quality of the lens.

Also known as a Mirror lens. For example, not my words or picture have a look here.

Mirror lenses have fallen out of favour because of the pronounced "doughnut" shape to out of focus background light (mirror lenses are considered to have awful "bokeh") and their fixed slow f-stop and generally low contrast image quality.

Thanks for the explanation....it appears that there are good reasons that they've fallen out of favor! :)
Which makes me wonder...why did you shoot with it if it's so bad?

rpavich, you tend to see sport photographers using up to 1 ft long lens say at a football (uk) match. The well off tend to use the mirror lens as well, less weight.
Personal choice really.

I like this shot and all others here. There is no such thing as a bad shot... Just ask the person who took it...I'm sure that jaddottart was thrilled to take and post this shot. I for one am glad he did...
Thanks Ronbo, I feel the same. I enjoy and learn from all of them. Bee
