I finally got the lens I have been saving for, for some time. No, it isn't the 200-400 Nikon - I am still wishing on that one.
So I thought I would go out and test it in some different lighting situations. Of course I get out to the lake and realize I forgot to throw the tripod in with the dog, crapolla!
Bearing that in mind, I am still pleased by some of these exposures at shutter speeds of less than 1/30th second. It appears to have learning curve, but I have adjusted to it well. It will be my "other" walk-around lens.
I have a harness that holds a camera body on each side. The one will be my 28-300 which I have had for a while now, and the other is the new 16-35. Hope you enjoy.

I spent quite a bit of time researching info on this lens. It was almost impossible to find any bad review. It was usually sold out through the major camera outlets. I have been waiting for several months for my local Nikon dealer to get one in. He just keeps on sending in an order, but hasn't gotten one.

The lens will work on the FX cameras, and I think I may get the D600 before the end of this year. It will make an ideal landscape lens for that body. That is if I don't forget the tripod again. ;)

Thank you Jeanette. I don't know about stunning, but I will take the compliment anyway. As I stated in the post, I am pretty pleased with the results. The fungi shot was taken hand-held at low shutter speed.

That's the only one I had to do some hdr with 3 exposures. Even hand-held without a tripod the images lined up rather well.

I don't know how I missed these, but it's most likely because they didn't make it to the digest. Such gorgeous photos...glad I found them.

These were taken the day after I got my new lens. You would miss most of my posts because they don't ever seem to make the cut for the digest. I am getting ready to post some more from the same area. I shot a few hundred exposures on Sunday before I went to the coast, but I didn't have time to post them. They will be coming soon...hopefully.
