Not only do they carry disease but they are ugly up close.
How long should we leave a bug in the freezer? I put an earwig in for a little too long, killed it and ended up being chewed out by a fellow photographer for "killing" it. :(

I would say never for the freezer-- the refrigerator is sufficient. JMHO
