Snow, old tractor and the Oxford Canal.
Had a good dump of snow over the week-end, couldn't do much outside so decided to have a walk round with the camera.
Those little buttons are hard to press with gloves on!

Especially loved #3 - almost like a post card. Hand on to it; in 10-20 years, people would look back and say, "Wow, look at the old truck!", kinda like they now say about #2. Thanks for sharing.

Really nice shots....like #1 with the barges.....don't think they would be going very far in that weather

Thanks for posting, like em all!
The Canal & Bridge shot especially, the ice in the water is neat! Did not look like anyone was about, glad you didn't fall in!
Looks like you did get some work done though, hauling that snow in your truck and all!

Ha ha, you're right there, I actually reckon I learn or get something new every day on UHH!
It's the "purists" who get upset! I often talk about "barges" when I'm in a canal-side pub to wind up the "trad boaters".
:) :) :)
I enjoyed the bridge/canal shot the most.

What is used to TOW the narrow boats as you call them.
I remember in school I was taught about the importance of the Canals in early transportation and Mules were used.
American school is somewhat limited, even back in the day as we were talking about the Erie Canal, in PA USA!

There's always a path along-side canals, it's where the horses would walk when they used to pull [or tow] the narrow-boats. That would have been from the 17th centuary untill the 1910's or 20's when steam-boats started appearing, although there were plenty of horse drawn boats into the 40's
